A-Plant Achieves FORS Gold Accreditation
Equipment rental specialist A-Plant has successfully achieved gold status from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). The prestigious accreditation which applies across A-Plant’s 25 strong Service Centre network in the South of England was achieved after the company actively demonstrated its commitment to vehicle safety and efficiency.
A-Plant’s Director of Transport Services, Shaun Winstanley commented, “To achieve FORS gold status in the south is a great achievement. It not only demonstrates to our employees that we are investing further in their safety and improving their skill-set, but it also assures customers that they are dealing with a professional, trusted company which takes compliance, safety and the environment seriously.”
Shaun continued, “As we are a Whole Fleet Accredited (WFA) company FORS has driven consistency across all locations as well as improving driver knowledge – especially the Safe Urban Driving course that we carried out. We’ve seen a tangible benefit from this as last year we had an 18% improvement in vehicle incident or collision frequency.”
FORS is an over-arching scheme that encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, economical operations and vehicle emissions. It is a voluntary scheme that helps improve operators' performance in each of these areas. For vehicle operators, it offers peace of mind that they are meeting their legislative requirements, as well as helping to increase efficiency, reduce costs and win work.
The remainder of A-Plant’s vehicle fleet is currently bronze accredited with FORS; the company is working towards achieving the gold standard for all of its UK locations.
