A one-stop-shop solution for generator hire and generator installation.

Once you have identified a need for temporary power, time is usually of the essence! Most of our customers have critical project deadlines to meet or business operations which urgently need power to stay live.

Generator installation

Some power generation rental companies will deliver equipment to your location but don’t have the expertise or qualified staff necessary to undertake the electrical installation, leading to delays whilst subcontractors are procured to undertake the electrical installation and cabling works.

Mather+Stuart provides a one-stop-shop solution; we design the right system to meet your power needs, supply all the power generation equipment and then undertake the electrical installation at the time of delivery, allowing our customers to get on with their day job.

It can’t be underestimated how important it is to ensure the correct electrical set up and installation of your generator. The correct installation ensures optimum generator performance and will provide safe and reliable power for the duration of your project.

Temporary generator hire on site

A bespoke solution every time

Our electrical engineers can design bespoke power distribution solutions for almost any application. Our wide range of generators can be combined in different ways to give you the voltage and power you need, allowing us to provide the optimum set up for each individual customer.

We have extensive experience working for customers in a range of industries including utilities, construction, facilities management, industrial and events. These customers often have time pressures and critical deadlines to meet and frequently require installation in challenging locations, such as at large scale entertainment events or in very remote locations. Our team of experienced electricians can develop a solution to overcome these challenges and ensure a successful installation.

What do we consider before installation?

Firstly, we will visit your site to undertake a site survey and establish the exact requirements to allow us to design a bespoke solution. This solution will take account of:

  • Generator size required
  • Connection details
  • Potential for hybrid solution
  • Suitable distribution and protection
  • Cable routes

An installation risk assessment and method statement will be developed to consider any site hazards and to ensure detailed planning of all electrical works.

Temporary Generator Installation

What does the generator installation process consist of?

Once we have delivered your equipment to site, our team will begin the installation process. All power generation equipment and cabling will be installed as per the risk assessment and method statement. Our electricians will install distribution boards and cabling between generators to ensure a setup which meets all your power needs.  We can install different combinations of plugs and sockets for easy connection and automatic mains failure panels for backup generators.

The system will be tested on completion, including earthing tests, and you will then be provided with an Electrical Installation Certificate to provide reassurance and confidence that the system is safe and reliable.
